In June I joined a group of mates, who have hiked together for over 25 years, for our annual challenge. As we have got older we have recognised the value of expert support. This time, with the amazing Trek guides Nick and Brad, we headed up the Koolpin Gorge in Kakadu and explored the glorious remote wilderness of the Kakadu escarpment where aboriginal communities had lived in harmony with the country for thousands of years. It was extraordinary, but only possible because of the expertise and care from our guides, who adjusted the plans regularly from their normal trip, to cope with our capacities which are not what they used to be in the past. This is our 4th Trek experience and I look forward to the next one.

The Heysen Trail 6 day walk in the Flinders Rangers with guides Declan and Eve was 100% satisfying - around 85 kms in 6 days through a variety of beautiful and dramatic terrain, staying 2 nights at Quorn and 3 nights at Willow Springs, near Wilpena Pound. Both places were terrific. I can't speak highly enough of the guides, for their knowledge, their enthusiasm, the fantastic cooking and service, including catering for a couple of trekkers with dietary requirements. The walks were at times challenging but all of us, 9 people ranging from around 70-75, managed well with plenty of rest stops and the right pace. The longest walk/climb was around 22 kms. The landscapes are so rewarding and at times breathtaking, with peaks and saddles to scale, occasionally clambering over rocks to get to a height, always with the reward of a stunning view. Brilliant weather and the right time of year (late April) helped make the trip a complete success. Thank you Eve and Declan for a wonderful experience.

Privileged to tour an amazing part of Australia with these guys. This is the second time I’ve toured with Trek Tours (Jatbula and JimJim). The food was 5 star! The guides were highly trained and great people. The art sites and cultural experience is truly special and the environment spectacular!!

I’ve been on several treks with Trek - the Bungles, Jatbula and Kakadu. You’ll get to see some stunning places that very few people get to see. A great company with knowledgeable guides. You need to be fit - but get ready for the best adventure ever!
